KONA International Airport

Hele-On provides direct service to KONA International Airport  via the Pahala-Kona-South Kohala route, Monday through Saturday.   There is one trip from Pahala, through Kailua-Kona and Ali’i Drive areas that arrives KONA International Airport at 8:35 a.m.  There is one trip from Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, The Fairmont Orchid, Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows, Hilton Waikoloa Village and Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at Historic Ka'upulehu departing at 7:15 a.m. arriving at the airport at 8:30 a.m.  The return buses departs Kona International Airport at Keahole at 8:30 a.m. and 4:35 p.m. for Pahala through Kailua-Kona and Ali’i Drive areas. The bus stop is unsigned and is located next to the Ride Share pick up location. Please wait at this location to ride the Pahala-Kona-South Kohala route.

If these trip times are not convenient, interested passengers may also walk 1 mile to Route 19 and board Hele-On buses on Route 19 @ Keahole Airport Road by flagging the bus down.  This intersection is served by the Pahala-Kona-South Kohala route and the North Kohala-Waimea-Kailua-Kona route.  One a.m. trip of the Hilo-Kona route also travels this way.  These routes are the best way to go north to the South Kohala resort areas or south to Kailua-Kona and Ali’i Drive areas.  There is no other direct bus service between South Kohala resorts and Kona International Airport at Keahole, except as explained above.

Passengers can also walk 1.4 miles to the intersection of Kaiminani Drive and Route 19 and at that intersection board an Intra-Kona route  by flagging it down to get to Kailua-Kona as far south to Captain Cook areas.  Due to traffic considerations, flag the bus on Kaiminani Drive.

Taxicabs also serve the airport. Visit our taxi webpage for additional contact information.
