Bus Fare Information

Beginning July 1, 2013, bus fares will be increased for the Hele-On Bus system.

Bus Fare Information

 

 

Beginning July 1, 2013, bus fares will be increased in Hawaii County.  Fares will be as follows:

 

Cash fares

  • General - $2.00
  • Students through college with current student i.d. - $1.00
  • Senior Citizens 60 years and above with a valid i.d. - $1.00
  • Disabled individuals with County Mass Transit issued disability i.d. or pass - $1.00
  • Children under 5 years old – Free

 Prepaid discounts

General:

     o   Bus Tickets:              $15.00/sheet of 10

     o   Monthly Pass:           $60.00

 

Students through college with current student i.d., Seniors Citizens 60 years and above with a valid i.d., Disabled individuals with County Mass Transit issued disability i.d. or pass:

     o   Bus Tickets:              $  7.50 

     o   Monthly Pass:           $45.00

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Students through college – must show a valid and current student identification card
  • Senior citizens – individuals 60 years and over must show a valid form of identification, such as driver’s license, senior citizen identification, or government identification card
  • Disabled individuals – must show identification card provided by the transit agency.  Please have the Disabled Application Form completed per the instructions.  The form below shall be used for obtaining a Disability Identification card.

Bus tickets may be purchased at the KTA stores in the Keauhou Shopping Center, Kona Coast Shopping Center, Waikoloa Village and Waimea Shopping Center.  Tickets may also be purchased at DIA in the Mo'oheau Shopping Center.  Bus passes and tickets are also available at the County Mass Transit office located in the Ironworks Building, 1266 Kamehameha Avenue, A-2.  You can also download a form on this website to purchase tickets and/or passes through the mail.
