KONA/HILO Route Changes on October 10 TO 14, 2017 due to Ironman Triathlon


From October 10, 2017, through October 14, 2017,  KONA TO HILO bus route will be revised as follows due to road closures during the Ironman Triathlon.  Below is a summary of the revisions.


Tuesday, October 10 through Friday, October 13


            Kona to Hilo

From Alii Drive, buses will turn right on Lunapule turn left on Kuakini Highway

            and will make the following stops:  Pottery Terrace, University of the Nations and

            McDonalds and proceed to Kona Commons and operate normal routing and schedule.


            Hilo to Kona

            From Kmart, the bus will travel on Queen Kaahumanu and turn right on Palani, left on

            Kuakini Highway.  Stops will be by the 76 gas station, across of University of

            Nations and Pottery Terrace turn right on Lunapule, left on Alii Drive and operate

            normal routing and schedule.                                        


Saturday, October 14  


            Kona to Hilo

From Keauhou Sheraton Resort buses will enter Keauhou Shopping Center, buses will turn left on Kamehameha III Road and proceed on Queen Kaahumanu Highway making stops before the Lako Street traffic light, and before Henry Street by mile marker sign.  Turn on Henry Street and proceed to Kamakaeha Avenue.  After Kamakaeha Avenue, left turn on Palani and proceed with normal routing through Kealekehe.


            Hilo to Kona

            From Kamakaeha Avenue, proceed on Henry Street, turn left on Queen Kaahumanu

            Highway and make the following stops:  Across of the highway from Fidelity Title

            Insurance, and after the Lako Street traffic light.  Buses will travel to Keauhou Shopping

            Center and Sheraton Keauhou Resort and operate normal routing and schedule.
