Ka'u-Volcano-Hilo

This route operates between Mo'oheau Bus Terminal and either Ocean View or Volcano. This route operates Monday through Saturday.

 Hele-On routes are unable to access the Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park until phase 3 of the park's re-opening. During this time period:

·         Kau to Hilo & Hilo to Kau routes   - will continue to pick up/drop off on the highway—outside of the park.

·         Hilo to Volcano routes                 - will end at Volcano Village if there are no riders going to the Volcano National Park area.

·         Volcano to Hilo routes                 - will NOT pick up at the Volcano National Park area, the nearest pick up location will be the Volcano Village stops.

NOTICE: Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, in response to the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and actions outlined by the Governor of the State of Hawai‘i, is announcing additional modifications to operations to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). As of Sunday, March 22, 2020, Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park will close to all park visitors until further notice. The park will offer no services except those that support visitor or resource protection.  Hele-On routes will not travel into the park during the closure period.

Effective date of the schedule is September 26, 2012.

Please be advised for passengers deboarding at Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, there is a $12.00 per person fee to enter the park that is required to be paid at the gate (individuals 15 years and younger are free).   The ticket is valid for seven days.  Some days may be free to enter the park. Destination signs for this route when traveling towards Ka'u or Volcano may either say "KAU" or  "VOLCANO".

Destination signs for this route when traveling towards Mo'oheau Bus Terminal will say "DOWNTOWN HILO".
